Requirements and Skills

• Certified or registry-eligible Cath Lab Technologist credentials
• Proficient knowledge of cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and related invasive cardiac procedures
• Strong ability to operate and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment
• Excellent understanding of sterile technique and infection control standards
• Ability to assist physicians and healthcare team members during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team collaboration
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Maintain accurate and thorough procedural documentation

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory and equipment for procedures
• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency
• Monitor patient vital signs and condition throughout the procedure
• Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems, to capture and interpret cardiac images
• Ensure all specimens and devices are handled according to protocol
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and sterile field guidelines
• Document all procedure details accurately in patient records
• Participate in quality assurance and continuing education activities to maintain clinical competencies

Qualifications

• Accredited graduate of an approved vascular or cardiovascular technology program
• Current certification or eligibility as a Cath Lab Technologist (RCIS, RCES, or equivalent)
• Experience preferred but new graduates with strong clinical knowledge will be considered
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Flexibility to adapt to various shift schedules as required
